This matchup between the No. 5 seed San Diego State Aztecs and the No. 6 seed Creighton Bluejays is the first 5-6 matchup in 13 years when Michigan State beat Tennessee in 2010. It is also the second straight year these two teams have met in the NCAA Tournament, as No. 9 seed Creighton beat No. 8 seed San Diego State in an overtime thriller in the opening round last year. San Diego State is playing in its first-ever Elite Eight, and both teams are looking for their first Final Four berths in school history.

Creighton has come a long way since a 9-8 start through 17 games, which also included a six-game losing streak from November 23 to December 16. Before the Bluejays’ 82-60 loss to Xavier in the Big East semifinals (their worst loss of the season), they had lost six of their 11 games by five or fewer points. Creighton and Princeton’s 90 combined first-half points in the Sweet 16 were the most combined points in the first half in this year’s Men’s NCAA Tournament. The Bluejays are 17-14 ATS as favorites this season and have covered nine of their 14 non-conference games.'
