On December 20th in their final game before Christmas break, Creighton dropped its Big East opener to Villanova 68-66 in overtime. They are now 9-3 on the season heading into Saturday's action, with nearly a week and a half rest. Creighton led by as many as 14 points against Villanova but the 'Cats shot nearly 60% in the second half to climb back into the game and force overtime. Villanova clinched the win with a 3-point field goal with under 30 seconds left in OT. Trey Alexander led the Bluejays with 16 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds for second career double-double. The Bluejays shot under 40% from the field in the game and hit just 5-of-24 from beyond the arc.
