Creighton at Georgetown Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/1/23

The Creighton Bluejays will fly out to DC to face the Georgetown Hoyas in Big East play from the Capital One Arena on the CBSSN. Creighton leads the all-time series, 12-9, after completing the season sweep last year.

Creighton moved to 13-8 after beating Xavier at home. The Bluejays jumped out to a big start, and held off the Musketeers to pick up the 17-point victory. Creighton is scoring 78.0 ppg, while allowing 68.2 ppg, and shooting 47.6% from the field.

Creighton responded to a six-game skid in the Fall, by winning seven of their last nine conference games, and they come into a good spot to keep things going. The Bluejays are 7-3 in Big East play, with a 1-4 record on the road. Ryan Kalkbrenner’s return saved Creighton’s season, and the 7’1 center leads the team in scoring (15.1), while grabbing 6.9 rpg. SDSU transfer Baylor Scheierman double-doubled in the win over St. John’s, and he’s averaging 13.5 ppg and a team-lead 8.3 rpg. Arthur Kaluma (12.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg) joins them up front, while sophomore guards Ryan Nembhard (11.4 ppg, 5.4 apg) and Trey Alexander (13.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg) round out the starting lineup.
