Dallas Cowboys'(0-0) vs.'Denver Broncos'(0-0)
Date:'Saturday, August 13, 2022
Time:'9 p.m. ET
Venue:'Empower Field at Mile High – Denver, CO
Coverage:'NFL Network

Week 1 of the NFL preseason includes a showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos. The Cowboys look to solidify themselves as America's Team once again, but that'll be easier said than done after losing key players like Amari Cooper and Randy Gregory this offseason.

Meanwhile, the Broncos underwent some of their own changes, including bringing Russell Wilson in as the quarterback, as well as hiring head coach Nathaniel Hackett. Denver has already lost a few wide receivers to injury during training camp, so the Broncos may take things conservatively on Saturday.

Cowboys vs Broncos Odds & Spread

Moneyline:'DAL: (+150) | DEN: (-175)
Spread:'DAL: +3.5 (-110) | DEN: -3.5 (-110)
Total:'31.5 -'Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

The Broncos enter this contest as a decent favorite on the moneyline and the spread. This 9 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 31.5 – one of the lower totals for the entire week.

Cowboys vs Broncos Prediction & Pick

The Cowboys typically don't give it their all in the preseason. In fact, Dallas is actually 0-5 straight up in its last five exhibition contests. To make matters worse, the Cowboys only averaged 12.4 points over that span.

At the same time, the Broncos want to give Hackett something to celebrate in his first head coaching experience. Fortunately, they've played better than the Cowboys have in recent preseasons, going 4-1 straight up in their last five outings in August.

With the Broncos having more to prove and the Cowboys being a preseason team to avoid, I like Denver's chances of winning here.

Final Score Prediction:'Broncos: 19 | Cowboys: 10

Cowboys vs Broncos Betting Trends

– Dallas is 0-8 against the spread (ATS) in its last eight road games against Denver.
– Denver is 8-1 straight up in its last nine games against NFC teams.
– The total has hit the under in nine of Dallas' last 12 games.
– The total has hit the under in 14 of Denver's last 19 games.

Cowboys vs Broncos Best Bet

Though both teams should be competitive in the regular season, there's little reason to like the Cowboys heading into tonight's game. They've been disastrous in the preseason and the Broncos have more to prove this week.

Unless the Broncos start horrendously, this game is theirs to lose. With that being said, I'm taking Denver to cover the spread.
