The Cornell Big Red are heading to the MVP Arena on Tuesday evening to take on the Siena Saints in non-conference action. The Big Red are 7-2 and are coming off an 81-70 road loss on Dec. 5 against the Syracuse Orange in their most recent game. The Saints are a putrid 2-8 so far and are on a three-game losing streak after an 89-56 road loss on Dec. 9 against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies. 

The Cornell Big Red are coming off a tough 91-80 road loss last time out against the Syracuse Orange and it’s difficult to win when they give up 47 points in the second half of the season. Cornell shot the ball at a decent level as they were 26-of-65 (40.0 percent) overall, 9-of-33 (27.3 percent) from the three-point line and 17 trips to the free-throw line. Sophomore guard Cooper Noard played decently well as he played 28 minutes and finished with 15 points, six rebounds and a steal. Their defense needs to improve as they allowed the Orange to shoot 42.6 percent throughout the game, 40.6 percent from beyond the arc and 14 trips to the charity stripe. 

The Cornell Big Red has been doing extremely well on the offensive side of the floor as they a re 34th in college basketball with 83.8 points per game. However, Brian Earl’s team has been absolutely brutal at defending as their 77.4 points per game puts them in 310th place in the sport.
