Connecticut (UCONN) vs. Army Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-19-2022

UConn will try to build on one of its best seasons in recent years when it travels to Army on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies became bowl eligible for the first time since 2015 last week when they picked up a 36-33 win over Liberty. Army has lost two straight games, including a 10-9 loss at Troy last week.

UConn will be looking to put a bow on a magical regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies had an unsuspecting start to the year, losing four of their first five games. They lost all four of those games by double digits, which made it look like they were in for another long season. UConn has bounced back with five wins in its six games since then, earning bowl eligibility for the first time since 2015. The Huskies began that stretch by pulling off a stunning upset against Fresno State as 23.5-point underdogs. They added an upset over Boston College at the end of October before covering the spread as 15.5-poin favorites against UMass.

The Huskies then picked up another shocking win last week, knocking off No. 19 Liberty in a 36-33 final as 13.5-point underdogs. Freshman quarterback Zion Turner hit sophomore wide receiver Kevens Clercius for a 30-year go-ahead touchdown with 5:43 remaining in the win. UConn’s 5-1 record at home is the most wins at home since going 6-0 in 2010. The Huskies also snapped a 10-game losing streak against nationally ranked opponents dating back to 2015. Fullback Robert Burns had a career-high 104 rushing yards on 11 carries, while freshman Victor Rosa ran for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Turner finished 15 of 21 for 103 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
