Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-27-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Championship Sunday

The Columbus Blue Jackets face the Vancouver Canucks with both teams looking to improve from difficult seasons. The Blue Jackets have a 15-30-3 record and are in last place in the Metropolitan Division while the Canucks have a 19-26-3 record and with only two wins in their last 10 games have fallen to the bottom of the Pacific Division and fired their head coach Bruce Boudreau. Both teams look to climb out of the bottom of their divisions and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Blue Jackets are having an awful season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.58 goals per game. Johnny Gaudreau, Patrik Laine, and Jack Roslovic have scored 31 goals and 71 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have 10 goals or more and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has let the Blue Jackets down this year, allowing 3.85 goals per game. Vladislav Gavrikov and Andrew Peeke have combined for 3.1 defensive point shares and 178 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender Joonas Korpisalo who has a .910 save percentage and a 3.22 goals-against average on 678 shots.
