Columbus Blue Jackets at Ottawa Senators – 1/3/23 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Columbus Blue Jackets and Ottawa Senators face off on Tuesday in a college basketball showdown at the Canadian Tire Centre. When these two teams faced off in April it was the Senators that secured the 2-1 victory.

The Blue Jackets come into this game with an 11-22-2 record overall and they have gone 2-11-1 away from home. On Saturday against the Chicago Blackhawks, they were able to secure the 4-1 victory. Gustav Nyquist finished with five shots on goal and two goals. The Blue Jackets are averaging 2.68 goals while their defense is giving up 3.91 goals per game. Johnny Gaudreau has had a strong season scoring 10 goals and adding 17 assists. Boone Jenner has scored 11 goals and added 11 assists.

On the other side of this matchup is the Senators who sit with a 17-17-3 record overall and they have gone 10-8-1 at home. In the last game against the Buffalo Sabres, the defense was good giving up only one goal and that led to the 3-1 victory. Anton Forsberg stopped 33 of the 34 shots. The Senators are averaging 3.0 goals while their defense is giving up 3.16 goals per game. Brady Tkachuk currently has scored 13 goals and added 25 assists so far this season. The Senators need to be the team that jumps out to a lead here because they have struggled when playing from behind this year.
