The veteran left-hander has posted a fair amount of solid outings but overall is having an inconsistent season, recording a 4.84 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP in 124.2 innings of work. Freeland has yet to beat the Cardinals, going 0-4 with a poor 4.98 ERA in four career meetings.
Colorado stands at 5-5 in their last ten games overall. They lost two of three to this Cardinals team last week and were dealt a series loss by Arizona this past weekend. The offense has been productive while the pitching continues to stumble. They allowed 16 runs in three games against Arizona.
C.J. Cron had a big series against the Cardinals last week, bashing one homer and six RBIs in only two games. The 32-year-old first baseman is having one of the best seasons of his career, bashing 23 homers with 86 RBIs and a .850 OPS. Cron has nine RBIs this month.
