Colorado suffered their seventh straight loss as they were beaten for the second straight night by the Pirates at Coors Field Tuesday night. The Rockies entered Wednesday 5-13 on the year and in the basement of the NL West, six games behind the Diamondbacks for the top spot. Against Pittsburgh Tuesday, Colorado scored three times in the bottom of the first but went scoreless the rest of the way. Elias Diaz (two RBI), Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon (run) each had two hits for the Rockies while Kris Bryant hit his third homer of the year in a losing effort. Jose Urena (0-3) took the loss on the mound as he allowed five runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts over 4.2 innings of work.

Ryan Feltner is slated to take the mound for the Rockies as he logs his fourth start of the season in this contest. He enters this game 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA, a 1.95 WHIP, 11 walks and 15 strikeouts over 13 .1 innings of work on the year. Feltner took the loss in his last start, which came against the Mariners on the road Saturday night. He threw 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in a game the Rockies dropped 9-2. Feltner makes his third career start against the Phillies in this contest. He is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA, a 1.846 WHIP, five walks and 13 strikeouts over 8.2 innings of work against them. Both of Feltner’s starts against the Phillies have come at Citizens Bank Park, so he has some familiarity with the park.
