Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 7-23-2023

The Miami Marlins play host to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday after from Marlins Park in the series finale of this three-game set. The Rockies have stunned many, taking the first two games of the series, as the Marlins will be looking to muster up the strength to at least salvage one win in the series. The Rockies took three of four games in the first series between these two in May, and with a series win this weekend, it's clear that Colorado has something working in their favor against Miami.

The Rockies have been one of baseball's worst teams this season, while having the fewest amount of wins in the National League, though they continue to have Miami's number. Across six meetings between the two teams this season, the Rockies have won five of those. Confidence continues to grow with every win, even as winning on the road remains a challenge for this group overall. With a 16-33 road record this season, it's difficult to imagine that they can win three in a row on the weekend. Sitting in last place in the NL West, a 6-4 record has given them some hope going forward, even if catching up with those in front of them in the standings seems like a long shot.

The Rockies will throw another winless pitcher out there on Sunday, which worked out for them earlier this series. Ty Blach has a 0-0 record and 6.75 ERA, as the lefty aims to secure the series sweep on Sunday. He's mainly worked out of the bullpen this season, so it'll be interesting to see how many innings Colorado can get out of him in this one. His last two outings have seen him go 3.0 innings, allowing four hits and no runs, as he looks to start fast and sharp in this one.

The Rockies have been hit or miss on the offensive end this season and injuries haven't helped matters. They have a number of starters who are either out or questionable for this one, which will eat away at their already decreasing depth. Ryan McMahon (15 home runs, 46 RBI, .338 OBP) has led the way but with little consistent help, it has been difficult to get things going in a positive direction. The last few days are a step in the right direction and after scoring six runs on Friday and four runs on Saturday, they'll be hoping not to take another step back in this one.
