Colorado Rockies vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-4-2022

The Colorado Rockies (56-77, 72-61 RL, 62-65-6 O/U) take on the Cincinnati Reds (52-78, 61-69 RL, 63-63-4 O/U) in the three-game series finale on Sunday afternoon. The Rockies will have Jose Urena on the hill. The Reds counter with Chase Anderson. The Rockies lead the season series 3-1.

The Rockies will have Jose Urena on the hill for the 12th time of the season in the series finale. Urena was solid in his previous start, holding the strong Braves offense to only two runs in five innings and earned the win. The veteran right-hander has posted a few solid performances but is wildly inconsistent and enters with a poor 5.80 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP accompanied by a 3-5 record in 63.2 innings logged on the season. Urena is 1-3 with a subpar 4.41 ERA in 25.1 career innings against the Reds.

The Rockies conclude a road trip in this game. They dropped the first series of the trek against the Mets and are 2-6 on the trek after losing two of three against the Braves this week. The offense has cooled down, scoring seven runs in their last four games.

CJ Cron is heating up after a poor stretch at the plate , collecting 10 hits and three RBIs in his last seven games. The 32-year-old slugger is having one of the better seasons of his career, bashing 24 homers with 86 RBIs and an .806 OPS. Cron is 4 for 14 with three RBIs against the Reds.

The Rockies are posting 4.39 runs per game, ranking them 16th overall. The pitching staff has filed a 5.04 team ERA, pegging them 29th in the Major Leagues.
