The Colorado Avalanche face the New York Rangers with both teams looking to return from the All-Star break in style. The Avalanche are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.84 goals per game with 18 goals in the last three games. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen have scored 58 goals and 92 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Jonathan Drouin, Ross Colton, and Logan O'Connor have combined for 33 goals and 45 assists while defensemen Cale Makar and Devon Toews have added 20 goals and 67 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.10 goals per game. While Makar and Toews have combined for 5.7 defensive point shares, the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to easily find open shots on the net. In addition, goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has struggled with a .898 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average on 1133 shots with -6.8 goals saved above average.
