Colorado Avalanche vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-9-2023

The Colorado Avalanche face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams heading in opposite directions to close out the season. The Avalanche have a 47-24-6 record and with three wins in a row, they have the second-best record in the Central Division. The Ducks have a 23-45-11 record and 10 losses in a row, they have fallen into last place in the Western Conference. Both teams are looking to improve in the Western Conference to close out the season and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Avalanche are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.32 goals per game with 15 goals in their last three games. Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen have scored 89 goals and 113 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. J.T. Compher, Valeri Nichushkin, and Evan Rodrigues have combined for 48 goals and 82 assists while defensemen Cale Makar and Devon Toews have added 23 goals and 86 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.71 goals per game. Makar and Toews have combined for 11.4 defensive point shares and 212 blocked shots while Samuel Girard, Bowen Byram, and Josh Manson have combined for 6.5 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has been great with a .918 save percentage and a 2.53 g oals-against average on 1782 shots with 24.7 goals saved above average.
