College of Charleston at Northeastern Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/21/23

The Charleston Cougars will head up to Boston and face the Northeastern Huskies in Colonial League play from the Matthews Arena on FloS. Northeastern and Charleston have met 20 times before, and while the Huskies hold a 11-9 series lead, the Cougars won both meetings last season.

Charleston improved to 20-1 after beating Monmouth in Long Branch. The Cougars avoided disaster after trailing the one-win Hawks at halftime, and coming back to pick up the 14-point victory. Charleston is scoring 79.7 points per game, while allowing 68.5 ppg, and shooting 43.1% from the floor.

Charleston cruised to their 20th win, and they’ll look to creep even further up the AP Polls. Charleston scores at a high clip, and they’re one of the handful of teams in the country with five scorers averaging double figures. Senior guard Dalton Bolon recorded a 22-point double-double in the win over A&T, and he hit six threes in the win over Elon to bring his team-lead to 13.6 ppg. Sophomore guard Reyne Smith went off for a career-high 27 points in the win over Monmouth, and he’s second on the team at 11.6 ppg.
