The Charleston Cougars will head up to Long Branch to meet the Monmouth Hawks in Colonial League play from the OceanFirst Bank Center.
Charleston improved to 19-1 after beating William & Mary at home. The Cougars jumped on the Tribe early and sent them back to Williamsburg with a 28-point loss. Charleston is scoring 80.3 points per game, while allowing 69.2 ppg, and shooting 43.5% from the floor.
Charleston is having the best season in school history, and they’re ranked in the polls for the first time in 20 years. There’s absolutely no reason the Cougars magical season should slow down here. Charleston scores at a high clip, and they’re one of the handful of teams in the country with five scorers averaging double figures. Senior guard Dalton Bolon recorded a 22-point double-double in the win over A&T, and he hit six threes in the win over Elon to bring his team-lead to 13.6 ppg. Sophomore forward Anze Brzovic has scored 17 points in back-to-back games and he leads the Cougs in rebounding (5.1).
