Nevada lost as much talent this offseason as anyone this side of Colorado. Last week, we attempted to fade the Wolf Pack against NMSU, and fell just short due to an absurd confluence of factors: NMSU turned the ball over five times (to Nevada's zero), but still had a shot to cover in the final minute.
That is, until HC Jerry Kill elected not to kick a field goal from Nevada's 17 down 11 points with 47 seconds left. NMSU ultimately turned it over on downs, losing 23-12 despite out-gaining Nevada by almost 50 yards (Nevada gained 257 against objectively one of the nation's five-worst defenses).
