It’s always nice to get off to a hot start, but sometimes a handicapper goes ice cold. The start to the bowl season was brutal for this handicapper, so I’m digging out of a hole.
After starting 0-4-1 — including blowout losers with Boise State, New Mexico State and San Jose State — I rebounded with winners on Arizona and Missouri. The Tigers’ 14-3 victory over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl was ugly, but when you’re desperate, ugly is acceptable.
