College basketball's five biggest disappointments
Many of the usual suspects and blue-bloods are playing up to or exceeding expectations, but there are some teams that are not. Roster turnover is a huge deal in college basketball with so many kids leaving early for the NBA and now the transfer portal and NIL money have added extra wrinkles to projecting teams at the start of a season.
Conference play will bring opportunities to pick up signature wins and get a stronger profile for the NCAA Tournament, but some teams will absolutely be digging out of holes throughout January and February in hopes of making their win-loss records look a bit better and also removing the sting of a loss that shouldn’t have happened.
