College basketball expert picks and predictions
I’ve already referred to a few college basketball Fridays as the “calm before the storm”. January 5 applies to that expression. There are 10 college basketball games on Friday. There are 145 games on Saturday. So, you can see why there are so few games on Friday night, given that 290 of the 363 Division I teams are in action on Saturday.
Tonight’s conferences in play are the MAAC, MAC, Big Ten, Big East, and Mountain West. You’ll see a lot of MAAC on Friday nights. I’ve talked before about the concept of conference specialization and how you can sometimes key in on conferences that play on certain days. The MAAC will have a large piece of proverbial land on Fridays, so maybe that’s a conference you want to do some more research on since you can spotlight their games.
