Coastal Carolina vs. Georgia State Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-22-2022

This Thursday the (3-0) Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the (0-3) Georgia State Panthers will matchup in the fourth week of the 2022 College Football season. Kick-off will be at 7:30 PM EST inside Center Parc Stadium. Both of these teams are coming into this one after tough week 3 matchups.

Coastal Carolina is coming into this one after taking down Buffalo, 38-26. They ran a very balanced offensive attack, as they continued to move the ball on the ground and through the air. They will be looking to keep the Panthers on their toes with their balanced play calling this week.

The Georgia State Panthers are entering this one after falling to the Charlotte 49ers, 42-41. The Panthers came up just short, as they couldn't pick up their first win at home. They will be aiming to run the ball down the Chanticleer's throats as they have multiple capable running backs.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have been solid on offense in their first three games of the season. They are currently scoring 35.7 points per game and they are averaging 431.7 yards. This is the 54th most points scored per game and the 59th most yards. They can move the ball on the ground or through the air, as they have multiple playmakers. The Chanticleers are averaging 255 passing yards per game, as Grayson McCall has looked great to begin the year. He has already tallied up nine touchdown passes, 733 yards, and only one interception, as he has been keeping the ball out of his opponent's hands. This is the 57th most passing yards averaged per game, as well. I would also watch for Sam Pinckney in this one. He leads the team with 15 receptions, 259 yards, and a touchdown. He has been one of McCall's favorite targets to begin the season. The Chanticleers also can run the ball on the ground. They are averaging 176.7 yards per gam e, as Reese White has continued to do his job. Coastal Carolina will use the run and the pass to drive the ball up and down the field. They run a very balanced offense and get everyone involved.

On defense, the Chanticleers have been solid, as well. They are only allowing 27 points per game, which is the 80th lowest average in college football. They are also allowing 392 yards per game, which is the 90th most. They have struggled to stop the opposing offense, as their secondary continues to get beat. They are currently allowing 289.3 passing yards per game, as they struggled against Buffalo. They gave up 5.7 yards per pass, as this was the easiest way for Buffalo to move down the field. They have been great against the run this season, though. They are only allowing 102.7 rush yards per game, as their front seven and linebacker continue to rally towards the ball. This is also the 41st least amount of rushing yards allowed per game. I would watch for JT Killen, as the Junior linebacker has been all over the field to begin this season. He has already recorded 22 total tackles, as he is a problem on the defensive side of the field.
