The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (4-0) and the Georgia Southern Eagles (2-1) play on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Brooks Stadium in a battle of Sun Belt opponents.
In their last outing, the Chanticleers knocked off the Georgia State Panthers 41-24. The Eagles are coming off of a victory over the Ball State Cardinals by the score of 34-23. Grayson McCall had 268 yards on 19-of-27 passing (70.4%) for the Chanticleers in that matchup against the Panthers, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added eight carries for 38 yards and one rushing touchdown. CJ Beasley carried the ball 25 times for 142 yards (5.7 yards per carry). He also had three receptions for 23 yards. Jared Brown had five receptions for 129 yards (25.8 per catch) and two touchdowns against the Panthers. Kyle Vantrease went 26-for-39 with 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Eagles against the Cardinals. He also rushed five times for 15 yards and one touchdown. Jalen White carried the ball 15 times for 69 yards (4.6 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added two catches for nine yards. Derwin Burgess Jr. caught five passes for 133 yards (26.6 y ards per catch).
The Chanticleers (-10) are big favorites in their matchup with the Eagles. The over/under is set at 60.5 points.
