Cleveland Guardians vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-5-2023

The Oakland Athletics (2-3) will take on the Cleveland Guardians (4-2) in the final game of their three game set on Wednesday. The Guardians won the opener 12-11 on Monday, but Oakland responded with a 4-3 win on Tuesday.

After losing the opening game 3-0 to the Mariners, the Guardians rolled off four straight wins heading into Tuesday, with the two most recent wins coming in extra innings. Tuesday night Cleveland came back from an early 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning before losing late. Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and Gabriel Arias each drove in runs in the loss, with Arias hitting a solo home run.

Om Tuesday Shane Bieber allowed three runs in six innings while striking out seven batters. The losing pitcher was James Karinchak who gave up the winning run in the ninth. The Guardians will start Hunter Gaddis on Wednesday, who allowed four runs in 3.2 innings of the 9-4 win against Seattle last Friday. Last season Gaddis made only two starts and posted a 18.41 ERA and 2.45 ERA only facing the Astros and White Sox.
