The Guardians didn't make a lot of roster moves during the offseason, but they also didn't really need to. The team's only glaring needs were a catcher and a strong hitter, and they took care of both before Christmas.
On Dec. 12, 2022, the Guardians signed first baseman Josh Bell to a two-year, $33 million contract. They secured catcher Mike Zunino three days later on a one-year, $6 million deal.
