Cleveland is on track to be the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, which would pit the Cavaliers against the New York Knicks in the first round. To avoid playing NY, Cleveland must make up 2.5 games in the standings to overtake Philadelphia for the three-seed. That, however, would take two Cavs wins and three 76ers losses to finish the regular season.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 43 points on 15-of-23 shooting, five boards, and four assists. He was 5-for-9 from three and 8-for-9 at the charity stripe. Darius Garland (+14 +/-) and Jarrett Allen (+16 +/-) were also focal points for Cleveland.

Mitchell paces the Cavs in scoring this season. He averages 28.3 points per game on 48.4 percent shooting, including 38.6 percent from deep. Cleveland also relies on solid play from Garland (21.6 PPG and 7.8 APG), forward Evan Mobley (16.3 PPG and 9.1 RPG), Allen (14.4 PPG and 9.9 RPG), and guard Caris LeVert (12.1 PPG).

The Cavaliers score 112.4 points per game (24th) and shoot 48.9 percent from the field (5th), including 36.7 percent from deep (11th). They hit 77.8 percent of their foul shots (19th) and average 41.0 rebounds (25th) with a -0.2 rebounding margin. Cleveland is 7th in adjusted offensive rating, 9th in effective field goal percentage (55.6%), and 30th in pace of play, per Dunks and Threes.

The Cavs surrender 107.1 points per game defensively (1st), and their opponents shoot 46.9 percent (8th) with a 37.1 shooting percentage from three-point distance (24th). Cleveland is 1st in adjusted defensive rating and 8th in assist-per-turnover ratio.
