Cleveland Cavaliers (7-1) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (5-4)

The 2022-23 NBA betting action continues Monday in this interleague showdown between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

This is the first matchup of the season between these two teams. Cleveland won both contests last year, including a 92-79 victory in Los Angeles in October. The Cavaliers are in the middle of a five-game road trip that began with a 112-88 victory over Detroit on Friday. The team took on the Lakers on Sunday, but that contest is not included in this analysis. The Clippers begin a three-game homestand on Sunday against the Utah Jazz, and that contest is also not included in this analysis.

After losing their first game of the season, Cleveland rattled off seven straight victories entering their contest against the Lakers on Sunday. The team is 7-1 overall, including 7-1 ATS. They are 3-1 on the road. On Friday, the Cavaliers rolled into Detroit to begin their five-game road trip, dominating the Pistons in a 112-88 victory. Kevin Love came off the bench to score 21 points and added 10 assists, giving him a +30 during his time on the court.

“We obviously have a ton of respect and appreciation for Darius and Donovan, but we've got some really good basketball players that are with them,” explained Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff. “Tonight showed we've got a really good, deep basketball team.”

Deep is a good way to describe this team, as six players scored in double digits in the victory over Detroit. Donovan Mitchell leads the club, averaging 31.1 points per contest, with Darius Garland second in points (16.5) and first in assists (7.5). Plus, Jarrett Allen has been spectacular, averaging 11.4 rebounds per game and 13.6 points per contest. Garland and Mitchell are both listed as probable for this contest.
