The Cleveland Cavaliers have hovered around the top five spots in the Eastern Conference for much of the season. The team has not been able to stay consistently hot to break though to the top three but are very much in hunt for a playoff spot this season. The team has survived an extended injury to Jarrett Allen and now appear healthy and ready to make a run. On Tuesday night, the Cavs' momentum took a hit in a 105-103 loss to the Knicks on the road. The Cavs came back from an 11-point fourth quarter deficit but Donovan Mitchell was turned away on three separate occasions as Cleveland was unable to tie the score. Mitchell finished with 24 points and Allen also had 24 points to go along with 12 rebounds but they fell just short.

“I went up to try and dunk it, both my legs cramped and my groin just tightened up and locked up on me so three things happened at the same time,” Mitchell said in regards to his fin al attempt to tie the game.

If the Cavs want to be a threat in the playoffs, they will have to get better on the road. Following Tuesday night's loss, Cleveland is now just 9-16 on the road this season. Thus far, the Cavs are just 26th in the NBA in points per game but they are seventh in field goal percentage, 12th in 3pt field goal percentage and are 12th in fewest turnovers per game. Defensively, Cleveland has the #1 scoring defense in the NBA. The team is seventh in opponent's field goal percentage but just 25th against the 3pt shot. The Cavs, even with the presence of Allen, are just 21st in the NBA in total rebounding.

Key Injuries: Keep an eye on Mitchell who is listed questionable with a groin injury suffered on the final play against the Knicks.
