Two AFC teams trying to make the playoffs will butt heads on Sunday afternoon. The Cleveland Browns (7-3; 7-3-0 ATS) better bring some oxygen, as Empower Field at Mile High is no friend to visitors. However, the Denver Broncos (5-5; 3-6-1 ATS) are much more familiar with the air up there. At 4:05 p.m. EDT, this lowkey significant matchup will kick off. One team will see a winning streak end. Who will it be earning an AFC win?

Even without their starting quarterback (for the remainder of the 2023 season), the Cleveland Browns earned a third straight victory last Sunday 13-10. In case the score didn't make it clear, Cleveland's defense did most of the heavy lifting, holding Pittsburgh to 249 total yards. They're now sixth in scoring, allowing only 18.0 points per game. Led by Myles Garret's NFL-best 13.0 sacks, the Browns have 33 (7th) as a team. Cleveland gives up the fewest yards per game (243.3) and second-fewest per play (4.5). If this team is going to continue succeeding, it begins with the defense.

Now, back to the offense, which is down its starting quarterback and running back until 2024. They're still managing 22.7 points per game (13th) this season. Cleveland's offensive success rests in a rushing attack that's sixth in yards. However, not much else works well. The Browns are 30th in yards per play (4.5) , 31st in yards per pass attempt (5.8), 30th in giveaways (20, and the teams below them have played more games), and 23rd in sacks allowed (29). Ball protection in particular is the key for Cleveland's offense to let the defense thrive. Can they keep it secure this weekend?
