The Virginia Cavaliers play host to the Clemson Tigers on Tuesday night in a crucial ACC showdown from John Paul Jones Arena. Clemson has won two in a row as they continue to cement themselves as an NCAA Tournament team, while Virginia has lost back-to-back games themselves as they return home. These two haven't faced off yet this season and split last season's pair of meetings, though, with nine wins in the last ten meetings, Virginia will like their chances, especially at home.

Clemson continues to sit near the top of the ACC but even despite that, finds itself on the NCAA Tournament bubble. February was a tough month for this group, losing four of five at one point, but have recovered nicely to win two in a row coming into this one. Saturday's win was incredibly impressive itself, taking down NC State on the road by 25 points, though it's still going to take a nice finish down the stretch to ensure that they'll be playing come mid-March. The regular season closes out against Notre Dame and a win on the road against Virginia can help connect the dots toward a four-game winning streak to close things out. With a 5-5 record on the road, snagging the win away from home in this one is going to be a tough ask.

It should help that Clemson continues to navigate life without any injuries to worry about. The mid-season injury woes have subsided and it shouldn't come as a surprise that they are playing better and better basketball of late.

Clemson has sprung a massive turnaround on the offensive side of things this season, though they'll certainly have their hands full against Virginia's stout defense. The Tigers rank 60th nationally in three-point shooting, which happens to coincide with Virginia's single weakness on the defensive end of things. Having four double-figure scorers give this group plenty of avenues to turn to for success, including three of those averaging over 14 ppg. Hunter Tyson (15.6 ppg, 9.4 rpg) leads the way in the frontcourt, while Chase Hunter (14.3 ppg) leads the way in the backcourt. While the scorers are well-noted, the defense can hold its own as well, which wills erve them well against a middle of the road Virginia offense.
