Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Mets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-10-2022

The Cincinnati Reds (44-64, 52-56 RL, 53-52-5 O/U) battle the New York Mets (71-39, 61-49 RL, 56-46-8 O/U) in the final bout of a three-game series on Wednesday afternoon. The Reds will have T.J. Zeuch on the hill. The Mets will counter with Taijuan Walker looking to rebound from his worst outing of the season. The Mets lead the season series by a 3-1 margin.

The Reds will have T.J. Zeuch make his Reds debut on Wednesday afternoon. Zeuch has spent the first three seasons of his career with the Blue Jays. The right-hander posted a cumulative 4.59 ERA and a poor 1.55 WHIP in 49 innings pitched in those three seasons. Zeuch struggled big time in the Minor Leagues this season where he logged a disastrous 6.70 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP in 45.2 innings.

Cincinnati traded away key players last week but found a way to register a notable series win in Milwaukee on the weekend. They are concluding a nine-game road trip in this game. The Reds have posted a solid 4-3 record on the trek entering Tuesday night.

Jonathan India is an ugly 0 for 9 against the Mets pitching this season. The 25-year-old second baseman had a strong July but has been quiet so far this month, recording only two RBIs. India is hitting .250 with 24 RBIs and a .706 OPS on the season.

The Reds are scoring an average of 4.29 runs per game, ranking them 19th overall. The pitching staff enters with a 4.99 team ERA, pegging them 29th in the big leagues.
