Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 7-25-2023

The Cincinnati Reds (55-46, 63-37 RL, 55-46 O/U) take on the Milwaukee Brewers (55-45, 48-52 RL, 42-54-4 O/U) as the division rivals continue a three-game series on Tuesday night. The Reds will have Andrew Abbott on the mound. The Brewers will answer with ace Corbin Burnes. Milwaukee leads the season series 8-2.

Andrew Abbott will take the mound on Tuesday evening. Abbott was outstanding last time out, completing eight shutout innings against the Giants and collected another win. The rookie southpaw has been incredible since he was promoted in early June, posting a 2.10 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP accompanied by a 5-2 record in 55.2 innings pitched. Abbott has pitched against the Brewers three times this season, conceding eight runs in 16.1 innings to go with a 1-2 record.

Cincinnati has rebounded from a five-game slide by winning the next five games, all at home. This includes two wins in four meetings against the Giants and a dominating sweep against the D-Backs on the weekend propelled by the bats. The Reds are only 0.5 games out of first and are 5-5 in their last ten decisions. 

Jonathan India has recorded six RBIs and but a poor .514 OPS against the Brewers this season. The 26-year-old second baseman is having a solid year, posting 51 RBIs and a .741 OPS. India has 10 RBIs and a .742 OPS on the month. He is hitting .143 with two RBIs against Corbin Burnes.

The Reds are scoring an average of 4.92 runs per game, ranking them ninth. The pitching is mediocre, reporting a 4.73 team ERA, placing them 25th.
