Cincinnati Reds vs. Miami Marlins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-3-2022

The Cincinnati Reds (41-61, 49-53 RL, 52-47-3 O/U) take on the Miami Marlins (47-56, 45-58 RL, 48-51-3 O/U) as the NL foes conclude a three-game series on Wednesday night. The Reds will have Mike Minor on the mound. The Marlins counter with their ace, Sandy Alcantara. The Reds lead the season series 3-2 entering Tuesday.

The Reds will have Mike Minor on the hill in this game. Minor was solid in his latest effort, limiting a good Orioles lineup to only two runs in 5.1 innings, leading to a no-decision in a game the Reds lost. The veteran southpaw has been somewhat decent recently but has poor numbers, recording a 6.31 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP accompanied by a 1-7 record in 51.1 innings of work on the season. Minor has posted a 5.05 ERA in 76.2 career innings against the Marlins.

The Reds are playing well recently. They posted a series win against a hot Orioles squad on the weekend and have won six out of their last nine games overall. Cincy often struggles on the road but has been competitive recently,  going 2-3 in their last five road games.

Brandon Drury continues to shine at the plate, collecting six RBIs in his last nine games. The 29-year-old is having a remarkable se ason, clubbing 20 homers with 59 RBIs and a .855 OPS. Drury is only 4 for 19 with three RBIs against the Marlins this season. Unfortunately, Tyler Stephenson has been declared out for the remainder of the season.

The Reds are posting an average of 4.37 runs, ranking them 16th overall. The pitching staff is carrying a 5.08 team ERA, pegging them 29th in the big leagues.
