The Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants face off on Sunday in a Week 2 NFL preseason showdown at MetLife Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was the Giants that secured the 19-17 victory.
The New York Giants' 2021 season was a disappointing one, and the hope is that they can be a whole lot better this season. The problem for the Giants though is there are still a ton of questions and a lot of that starts with the quarterback. Daniel Jones has shown some flashes of being a good NFL quarterback, but he has been way too inconsistent during his career, and they need him to have a big season. The Giants brought in Tyrod Taylor this offseason and he should play plenty in this game. In the first game of the preseason, the Giants were able to win 23-21 over the New England Patriots. Taylor completed 13 of his 21 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Collin Johnson had a big game catching seven passes for 82 yards.
On the other side of this matchup is the Cincinnati Bengals who had a big 2021 season, and they will try to build off that here. Joe Burrow has quickly become a very good NFL quarterback, but he won’t be playing in this game. In the first preseason game the Bengals faced off against the Arizona Cardinals and they were defeated 36-23. Jake Browning looked good for the Bengals completing 13 of his 24 passes for 190 yards.
