Cincinnati at Wichita State – 1/5/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Cincinnati Bearcats will head to Kansas and face the Wichita State Shockers in AAC play from the Charles Koch Arena on ESPN. Wichita State and Cincinnati first faced off as rivals in the MVC back in the ‘60s. Cincy holds the all-time series lead 27-13, after winning nine of the last ten meetings.

Cincinnati dropped to 10-5 after losing to Temple in Philly. The Bearcats fell behind early, and after failing to rally they’d fall to the Owls by nine points. Cincinnati is scoring 79.6 points per game, while allowing 69.2 ppg, and shooting 46.4% from the field.

Cincinnati had their four-game winning streak snapped on New Year’s Day, but they still carry one of the best lineups in the conference. David DeJulius remains the heartbeat of the Cincinnati program. The three-year starter had three 22-point outings in December, and he leads the Bearcats in scoring at 16.1 ppg. Memphis transfer Landers Nolley II scored a game-high 23 points in the win over Tulane last week, and he’s up 15.1 ppg.  Viktor Lakhin has double-doubled twice in the last three games, and he’s the team’s leading rebounder (7.7), while scoring 12.8 ppg. Veterans Jeremiah Davenport (9.4 ppg) and Mike Adams-Woods (9.6 ppg, 3.5 apg) round out the starting five for Cincy.
