Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has already publicly stated he'll play his starters for the first quarter before turning to the second unit and that he'll “play everybody” – which should include quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson has said he'll do the same, in part to match what the Chiefs are planning to do. So why, exactly, are the defending champions catching even money in the first half when they'll be rolling out their first unit for the first 15 minutes?
We aren't the only ones to catch onto this seemingly mispriced line. Some of our best sports betting apps have Kansas City as a full-game underdog but a favorite in the first quarter or first half – presumably a nod to the Chiefs' plan to play their starters.
