Los Angeles played the rubber game of their three-game interleague set in the Mile-High City Sunday afternoon. The Angels set a franchise record as they pummeled the Rockies 25-1 in the middle game of the set Saturday night. In the first series between the teams this season, the Angels took two of three in the Windy City May 29-31.

Chicago blew a lead in the top of the ninth inning against Boston Saturday afternoon but managed to push across the winning run in the bottom of the frame for the walk-off victory. The White Sox entered Sunday 33-45 on the season and stood fourth in the AL Central, six games behind the Twins for the top spot in the division. In Saturday’s game, Chicago got three hits from Andrew Benintendi and a pair from Elvis Andrus (RBI), including the game-winner, to pace a 10-hit attack. Yasmani Grandal (his sixth), Luis Robert Jr. (his 19th), Jake Burger (his 17th) and Andrew Vaughn (his 12th) each hit solo homers in the game for the White Sox. Lance Lynn didn’t factor in the decision as he allowed three runs on six hits with one walk and seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings of work. Kendall Graveman (3-3) blew the save but earned the win despite allowing one run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in one inning of work.

After being pushed back a day from Sunday’s series finale with Boston, Dylan Cease gets the ball here for his 17th start of the season in this contest. He is 3-3 with a 4.22 ERA, a 1.324 WHIP, 39 walks and 100 strikeouts over 85.1 innings of work this season. Cease didn’t factor in the decision in his last start, which came Tuesday night at home against the Rangers. He threw six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with two walks and nine strikeouts in a game the White Sox rallied to win 7-6. In his last three starts, Cease has no record with a 2.60 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP, seven walks and 26 strikeouts over 17.1 innings of work. Cease makes his fifth career start against the Angels in this contest. He is 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP, nine walks and 24 strikeouts over 20 innings of work against them. Cease is 0-1 with a 7.45 ERA, a 1.655 WHIP, four walks and nine strikeouts over 9.2 innings in two career starts at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
