Chicago White Sox vs. Colorado Rockies Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 7-26-2022

The Colorado Rockies will host the Chicago White Sox in the opening game of a short two-game set on Tuesday. The White Sox were off on Monday after beating Cleveland 6-3 on Sunday. The Rockies lost to the Brewers 10-9 on Sunday on the road, and played Milwaukee on Monday as well, but that game was not complete at the time of this preview.

The White Sox and Rockies have not faced each other since 2017.

The Chicago White Sox have underachieved for much of the season, but they are still very well in the hunt for a postseason berth. With 66 games left to play, the Sox are third in the AL Central but only four games out of first place. They are on a two-game winning streak and have won seven of their last 10. Chicago has been a better road team this season, where they are six games above .500.

Starting at Coors Field on Tuesday will be Michael Kopech (3-6, 3.36 ERA). In 17 starts this season, Kopech has a 74 to 42 strikeout to walk ratio and has allowed 10 home runs in 83 innings off work. On the road, he is 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA.

The White Sox offense has been led by Jose Abreu (.304 AVGm 11 HR, 47 RBI), Luis Roberts (.301 AVG, 12 HR, 54 RBI, 11 SB), Andrew Vaughn (.298 AVG, 10 HR, 49 RBI), and Tim Anderson (.310 AVG, 12 SB). Roberts, Vaughn, and Anderson have all each missed at least 20 games this season. Amongst the four offensive leaders, Roberts is currently out with an injury and has not played since July 15.
