The Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics face off on Friday in an MLB showdown at Oakland Coliseum. In the first game of this series, it was the White Sox that ran up the score and secured the blowout victory.
The White Sox come into this game with a 70-68 record overall and they have put themselves right back into the middle of the playoff race. On Thursday Yoan Moncada had a big game finishing with five hits and five RBIs. The White Sox’s offense hasn’t been good enough this season and they are averaging 4.24 runs per game which is 19th in the league. The pitching hasn’t been any better and he is ranked 19th in the league. Andrew Vaughn has hit 15 home runs and driven in 64 RBIs.
The A’s come into this game with a 50-88 record overall and far too often the pitching has had days as they did on Thursday where they get blown out. The Athletics have had a terrible season and the offense has been the biggest issue. Oakland is averaging 3.42 runs per game which is 29th in baseball.
