The Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at Progressive Field. On Friday the White sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Cleveland came back and were able to secure the 5-2 victory.
The White Sox come into this game with a 61-59 record overall and they really need to win the next two games or they will start to slide even farther in the standings. The White Sox’s offense hasn’t been great, but even worse has been the pitching and they are giving up 4.48 runs per game which is 22nd in the league. On the other side of this matchup is the Guardians who sit in 1st place in the American League Central with a record of 64-55. The Guardians have won two games in a row because of the offense. Overall Cleveland is averaging 4.38 runs per game which is 16th in the league. The pitching is ranked 11th and is giving up 4.11 runs per game. On Friday Andres Giminez drove in two runs.
