The Chicago Bulls were the talk of the NBA during much of the first half of last season. Newest acquisitions DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso energized the Bulls and the team looked like it might make a deep playoff run. DeRozan continued to shine with near-MVP numbers but Ball suffered a knee injury he has yet to recover from and Caruso was in and out of the lineup the second half of the year. This year it has been more of the same heartache for the Bulls as Ball remains out and Caruso missing weeks worth of games. DeRozan has been solid along with Zach LaVine but the Bulls have fallen off. On Monday night, the Bulls lost their fourth straight game, this time to the upstart Orlando Magic by the score of 100-91. LaVine scored 26 points and DeRozan gutted out a nagging hip injury to give the Bulls 19 points in the loss. Chicago missed its first 16 three-point attempts and went just 30-of-21 from long range for the game. The Bulls al so committed 16 turnovers in the loss.

“I think it's just normal instinct — let's just drive the ball in there, let's drive it to the basket,” Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said. “What happened is two times we had charges and a few times we had spray-outs that weren't there, that weren't open, that we turned the ball over.”

The Bulls recent woes have dropped the team's scoring offense to 18th in the NBA in points per game. Additionally, in the midst of a 26-of-125 stretch from beyond the arc over five games, the Bulls are now ranked 15th in 3pt offense. Chicago is 11th in fewest turnovers per game in the NBA. Defensively, Chicago is 15th in scoring defense thus far and 11th in three-point defense. On the glass, Chicago is ranked just 23rd in total rebounding this season.

Key Injuries: DeRozan is going to sit this game out to rest his sore hip.
