Chicago Blackhawks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-15-2023

The Chicago Blackhawks will go on the road on Wednesday evening to the Scotiabank Arena  to clash with the Toronto Maple Leafs in a non-conference game. The Blackhawks are last in the Central Division (16-30-5, 37 points) and are coming off a 4-1 road loss on Saturday night against the Winnipeg Jets. The Maple Leafs have been doing incredibly well as they are second in the Atlantic Division (32-14-8, 72 points) and are coming off a 4-3 home loss on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. This will be the first of two games against one another as they also will play on Sunday as well.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been a terrible offensive team so far this regular season as they have scored 125 goals so far, which is last in the NHL. They have three different players on the injury report with only one player on Injured Reserve. They have been a little less than ideal on the power play as they have scored 27 goals on 146 power play attempts (18.49 percent). They also have been shooting decently well as they have a 9.2 shooting percentage as a team, which is below the 9.9 league average.

Petr Mrazek is the starting goaltender for the Chicago Blackhawks and is expected to be in the net for this game. He was decent at best in his previous game as he allowed three goals on 27 shots against the Winnipeg Jets in a loss. Mrazek has been struggling with a recor d of 5-14-2 with an .895 save percentage and 3.95 goals allowed per game thus far. They gave up 186 goals so far, which is 24th in the NHL right now and have been below average in terms of penalty kills, so they need to be better at killing penalties.
