Only three active skaters have 10 goals or more and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.
The offense has struggled but the defense has also let the Blackhawks down this year, allowing 3.64 goals per game with 13 goals in the last three games. Jake McCabe and Connor Murphy have combined for 5.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Petr Mrazek has struggled with a .884 save percentage and a 4.00 goals-against average on 779 shots with -16.7 goals sa ved above average.
