The Chicago Blackhawks face the Minnesota Wild with both teams heading in opposite directions to start the season. The Blackhawks have a 7-16-4 record and are in last place in the Central Division while the Wild have a 16-11-2 record and are on a three-game winning streak. Both teams are looking to improve within the Central Division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Blackhawks are having an awful season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.41 goals per game. While Patrick Kane, Max Domi, and Jonathan Toews have scored 23 goals and 33 assists, the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three skaters have scored seven goals or more while only five skaters have added seven assists to the offense and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has been awful but the defense has let the Blackhawks down, allowing 3.67 goals per game. Connor Murphy and Jake McCabe have combined for 3.1 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has been awful, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Petr Mrazek has been awful in the net with a .873 save percentage and a 4.37 goals-against average on 323 shots.
