Chicago Blackhawks (5-5-2) vs. Los Angeles Kings (8-6-1)

The Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings lock horns Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, to continue their three-game regular series. Just a week ago, the Blackhawks outlasted the Kings 2-1 in overtime as +155 home underdogs.

Chicago is a massive +249 moneyline dog this time around. Los Angeles is a -282 home fave, and the totals sit at 6.0 goals.

The Chicago Blackhawks put an end to their four-game losing streak with that overtime victory against the Kings. They returned to losing ways last Saturday, suffering a 4-0 defeat at the Winnipeg Jets. The Blackhawks failed to score on 30 shots, while their defense yielded three power-play goals and one shorthanded. Arvid Soderblom gave up three goals on 24 shots before exiting at the end of the second period.

“I don’t know (Soderblom’s) status,” Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said. “I just know the trainer came after the second period and said he wasn’t feeling good, and Wells was here. He stood really strong for us in the third period. It’s definitely concerning with all of the injuries at this point. Hopefully, he&#x 2019;s not too bad.”

The Blackhawks have already lost goaltenders Alex Stalock and Petr Mrazek to injuries. If Soderblom doesn’t suit up Thursday, rookie Dylan Wells will patrol the crease at Crypto.com Arena. Wells posted 12 saves in his NHL debut against Winnipeg. Mrazek has been activated from the IR, but he’s still recovering from a groin injury.

Chicago is allowing 3.17 goals per game (16th in the NHL), and the Blackhawks own a poor 71.4 penalty-killing percentage (27th). On the other side of the puck, they are scoring 2.83 goals per contest (tied-24th) on an 11.1 shooting percentage (8th). The Blackhawks are 9-for-37 with the man advantage, holding the 12th-best power-play percentage in the league.
