The Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Stars in overtime on Friday, 5-4. That was the opening contest of a five-game road trip. The Blackhawks have been abysmal on the road, dropping their last 10 games away from Chicago and they are 4-13-1 overall. Chicago is in last place.

The Blackhawks trailed by two goals with 11 minutes left, but scored two goals in eight minutes to force overtime before falling to Dallas, 5-4. Tyler Johnson scored two goals in the loss, putting in the first and last goals for the Blackhawks. Connor Bedard was held off the scoresheet, but has six points over his previous four games. 

Petr Mrazek had a tough game, giving up five goals while saving 30. He is 9-11-1 with a 3.0 7 GAA and a .908 save percentage but has been light years ahead of Arvid Soderblom (2-11-1, 4.15, .870). Chicago is 30th in goals per game (2.46) and in goals against average (3.66). The Blackhawks are 27th in penalty killing (75.0%).
