The Chicago Blackhawks face the Colorado Avalanche with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Blackhawks have a 24-39-6 record and with only three wins in their last 10 games, they have the second-worst record in the Western Conference. The Avalanche have a 40-22-6 record and with five wins in a row, they have leaped into second place in the Central Division. Both teams look to improve in the Central Division and the upcoming game looks to be a good one.

The Blackhawks are having an awful season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.51 goals per game with only four goals in the last two games. Taylor Raddysh, Andreas Athanasiou, and Philipp Kurashev have scored 43 goals and 42 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only three active skaters have scored 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also let the Blackhawks down this season, allowing 3.51 goals per game. Connor Murphy and Seth Jones have combined for 5.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender Alex Stalock who has a .919 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average on 594 shots with 8.7 goals saved above average.
