Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-9-2022

The Minnesota Vikings (3-1) will host the Chicago Bears (2-2) on Sunday in an NFC North game between two teams whose overall record is much better than how they have looked this season. The Vikings swept both games straight up and against the spread last season. Minnesota won 17-9 as a seven-point road favorite on December 20, 2021, and won in Chicago 31-17 as a 3.5-point home favorite on January 9, 2022.

It's hard to believe that the Bears have two wins this season, but they do. Chicago opened up the series by upsetting the 49ers 19-10. They then lost to the Packers 27-10, beat the Texans 23-20, and lost to the Giants 20-12 last week. Chicago is 2-0 at home and 0-2 on the road.

The Bears' defense is fourth in the NFL only allowing 168.5 passing yards per game, but that has a lot to do with their opponents' ability just to run the ball down their throat, as Chicago is dead last allowing 183.3 rushing yards per game. The Bears rushing offense is also the key to success, ranking third with 177.3 yards per game. Throwing the ball hasn't gone well for Chicago, ranking dead last with 97.5 yards per game. Justin Fields is 30th in the NFL with a 22.7 QBR, and has completed 50.7% of his passes for 471 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Fields has added a touchdown and 147 yards with his feet. Khalil Herbert leads the rushing attack with 317 yards and three touchdowns averaging 6.1 yards per attempt.
