The Dolphins released Sony Michel on Monday, and the news reflects well on Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert’s fantasy football prospects.
Miami’s backfield had been congested with the three aforementioned running backs. With Michel out of the picture, Edmonds has moved up from the 31st-ranked running back in fantasy football to the 26th, according to the Action Network’s director of predictive analytics Sean Koerner.
Koerner has been FantasyPros’ most accurate draft ranker for the last three seasons, dating back to 2019.
“I moved Edmonds up from RB31 to RB26 in my rankings,” Koerner said. “He should see an extra couple carries a game and is more likely to see goal-line touches with Michel out of the picture. [Edmonds] is now a Mostert injury away of being a potential low-end RB2, so he carries a nice floor/ceiling combo in the RB30 range right now.”
As far as Mostert’s fantasy value, that has increased as well, according to Koerner.
