The 2022-23 NBA betting action continues Monday in this inter-conference battle when the Charlotte Hornets take on the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
The Hornets may be looking to snap an eight-game losing streak. They lost to Atlanta on Friday, 125-106. Charlotte faces Denver on Sunday, but that contest was not included in this analysis. Sacramento won their second straight game when they defeated Detroit on Friday, 122-113. These teams met in Charlotte in October with the Kings coming away with a 115-108 victory.
The Charlotte Hornets (7-22, 12-15-2 ATS) found themselves trailing by 14 coming out of the first quarter and were not able to recover, losing to Atlanta on Friday, 125-106. The loss was the seventh in a row for Charlotte, who head to the road where they are 3-11. It is not surprising that Charlotte is where they are in the standings, as they are 25th in points per game (110.1) and 28th in points allowed per contest (117.3).
“We have to try to figure it out here and it certainly won't get any easier. It’s the NBA,” Gordon Hayward said following the loss. “Things have to start on the defensive end for us. Every night is not going to be good on the offensive end, so we ha ve to give ourselves a chance and that's starts on the defensive end.”

LaMelo Ball led the Hornets in scoring with 27 points, hitting nine of 18 shots, including 7-13 from three-point range. However, the club hit 39.8% of their shots while Atlanta hit 54.7%. The Hawks took 23 fewer shots in the game, but were 15-29 (51.7%) from three-point range and took 15 more free throws in the contest. Charlotte hit 68.4% of their free-throw attempts and are 26th in free-throw percentage (73.8%).
