With nine games remaining in the regular season, the struggling Dallas Mavericks (36-37) will host a Charlotte Hornets (23-50) team that is looking to play spoiler on Friday night. These two teams will head to Charlotte and play each other again this Sunday as well.
The Charlotte Hornets have the fourth worst record in the NBA. On the road the Hornets are 11-27 this season. Charlotte is coming off a 115-96 road loss to New Orleans on Thursday night, and have now dropped five of their last six games overall. P.J. Washington led the Hornets with 18 points in the loss to the Pelicans and Svi Mykhailiuk added 15 points off the bench.

The future of the Hornets is shaky. This season has been disappointing for a team that fired their head coach after going 43-39 last season. La Melo Ball (23.8 ppg, 8.4 apg, 6.4 rpg) has also been limited to just 36 games, and will miss the rest of the season. It has also been confirmed by Michael Jordan that he has had conversations about selling the franchise.
